Also for 2016 Samsonite has won the Red Dot Design Award for its luggage collections’ aesthetics and quality of materials. The award was established to honor designers and manufacturers who have distinguished themselves in the realization of innovative and functional design products, with the aim to emphasize the close link between technology and quality.

Samsonite is not new to this Award, in fact in 2010 the company was awarded for Cosmolite suitcases, giving a starter point to a series of innovative and functional collections that have conquered the judges of the Award year after year.

In 2015 the Red Dot winners have been Lite-Biz and Lite-Shock collections, in 2016 the winners have been Lite-Cube DLX and Paradiver, with honorable mention for rigid Starfire luggage.

These collections, considered the top of 2016, are characterized by an excellent combination of functionality and design, without sacrificing quality of materials.

Paradiver was considered by the judges as cool and eye-catching, with a style specifically dedicated to outdoor adventures with their backpacks and travel bags featured by technical fabrics, functional organization of pockets and compartments, bright and casual colors.

Lite-Cube DLX and Lite DLX embody indeed a completely different style, with its stylish look enhanced by leather details: in this case, the jury describe the line as a “luxury solution” for the journey, full of bags, luggage and beauty cases with a particular classy taste.

The honorable mention at the 2016 Red Dot Design Award goes to hard-side luggage of Starfire collection, deemed aesthetically fascinating for their timeless design and the scratch-resistant materials. At this regard, the collection is made of Makrolon®100% polycarbonate, an innovative material known for the high impact resistance.

Some preview of 2017 collections hint that even for the new year Samsonite will be one of the cornerstones of innovation in luggage field, without leaving out style and quality.
